What are the legal display obligations for a furniture market player?
🗣️Answer:
Specific display obligations for eco-contribution for furniture:
Companies selling furniture or fixtures must display the eco-contribution on their sales documents:
For professional sales, eco-contribution must be present in catalogs and invoices, through the tariffs with adapted explanations and/or the unit amount assigned to each product.
For sales to individuals and professionals, the display is also mandatory near the total sales price of the product, similarly on the sales site as on websites.
It is recommended to use the term "Eco-part" separately from the sales price on the price tag, catalogs, and invoices, and to provide customers with elements explaining its purpose.
Note: Article R543–256–1 of the Environmental Code link provides for an administrative fine (3rd class offense, amounting to €450) for any non-display of eco-contribution.
What are the legal display obligations for a construction sector market player?
🗣️Answer:
Specific display obligations for eco-contribution for building products and materials:
You must inform your professional customers about your regulatory compliance and the application of an eco-contribution, notably in your general sales terms (CGV).
Identical pass-on of the contribution amount for all products you market (import and private label) and for all products you purchase from suppliers applying a contribution.
Regarding individual customers, it is not mandatory to detail contribution amounts paid on products. However, it is advisable to inform them about the application of eco-contribution on invoiced products, which helps finance recycling of building materials and products.

On what platform and where should eco-contribution be displayed?
🗣️Answer:
For sectors with mandatory eco-contribution display, like the furniture sector, eco-contribution must appear on websites, catalogs, brochures, tags, labels, price lists, quotes, invoices and even advertisements.
If eco-contribution is detailed on invoices, it is not mandatory on receipts.
It must be displayed separately from the sales price.
How to display eco-contribution for sets presented with a single price?
🗣️Answer:
Eco-contribution follows the price display for each piece of furniture sold separately.
When sets of items not sold separately are presented (e.g., bed, box spring, headboard, or a complete kitchen) with a single price for the whole set, a global eco-contribution and a total price to pay (eco-contribution included) must be indicated.
If the set composition is detailed elsewhere (in compliance with the decree of March 14, 1986), you must then indicate the price of each item with the mention of eco-contribution for each item.
